Psychotherapy can help with issues associated with:
Issues with self confidence, self image, relationship difficulties, stress related issues including post-traumatic stress, history of trauma, abuse, stress, anxiety & depression, overwhelming feelings, life limiting conditions, unexplained or hard to treat physical symptoms and the effects of bereavement and separation.
I offer individual and group psychotherapy in Bristol and Gloucestershire.
I aim to provide a confidential, consistent and safe therapeutic space whereby people can work with emotional material at a level that best suits them. I believe that given the right conditions we can tap into inner resouces and naturally find ways to understand and work through our experiences and difficulties. Clients do not have to have any prior experience of body work or using creative art forms to benefit from this type of psychotherapy.
Sessions may include the use of verbal and non verbal elements to help support the connection between different aspects of themselves - encouraging self awareness, self expression and personal growth.
About Body Movement Psychotherapy
'Sometimes words alone are not sufficient in communicating our feelings and experiences'.
Body Movement Psychotherapy is a form of psychotherapy that not only uses words but also uses the body, movement and creative processes to make sense of personal experiences and move through times of difficulty. Our individual histories, thoughts and feelings all impact on us emotionally but also physically. By safely including physical aspects such as sensations and prefered ways of moving in therapy, personal transformation and change can be experienced at a deep level. Often when we get stuck or run out of answers, using mindfulness practices, working more creatively and listening to bodily cues can help guide us.
Recent advances in scientific research also gives support to this idea by helping to explain more
about the significance of the connections between our bodies, minds, emotions and our ability to heal.
If you have any questions or need to clarify more about this way of working please do contact me to discuss further.
