I am an experienced Psychotherapist with over 25 years of movement and body work experience. I have been fortunate enough to have provided Dance Movement Psychotherapy in the NHS for both older adults, adults and children for many years, and now offer psychotherapy privately in the Bristol & Gloucestershire area. I am committed to using the body, movement and creative processes alongside verbal therapy to help with personal expression, growth and transformation.
I have specialist experience helping people living with hard to treat physical symptoms and providing therapy with looked after children and their families.
I offer supervision for Psychotherapists, Arts Psychotherapists, counselors and health professionals from my private practice in Bristol, Stroud and also online. I have experience providing supervision for charitable organisations, academic institutions and individuals seeking supervision independently.
Before working as a Psychotherapist I spent many years working as a senior physiotherapist and clinical supervisor in the NHS in both physical and mental health settings.
Trainer, lecturer and facilitator
I have provided training and workshops in Dance Movement Psychotherapy and have worked as a lecturer and tutor at Goldsmiths University London. I am a trained facilitator in 'The BodyMind Approach' for people with hard to treat physical symptoms and worked as training manager for Pathways2wellbeing, an organisation that provides groups for people suffering with medically unexplained symptoms within the NHS. I was involved in the preliminary research with The University of Hertfordshire, and have enjoyed traing a variety of psychotherapists, counselors and other health professionals in 'The BodyMind Approach' (TBMA).
I have a lifelong interest and passion for dance in both a personal and professionally capacity. I continue to explore dance & movement, particularly alongside nature and the wider environments in which we live, and am inspired by its power to transform.
